The Hemed (Hinuch Mamlachti Dati–Religious Public Education) Friends Association was founded in 2011 to improve and enhance public religious education in Israel. In collaboration with the Israeli Ministry of Education, the association promotes a variety of educational programs for students, their parents, the academic staff, and the school principals of Hemed schools to empower the school system and to, in turn, better Israeli society.


The Hemed System is composed of:

2,800 Kindergartens    450 Primary Schools   350 High Schools

80,000 Educators         300,000 Students


Our Vision


We, at Hemed Friends Association, envision that the Hemed system, with its emphasis on Jewish morals and scholastic excellence, will continue to be fundamental to promoting the values of Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael, and the Torah while maintaining its centrality within the Israeli nation-state.

Increasing the number of students who learn at Hemed by promoting registration, retention, and dropout prevention

Deepening Jewish identity and the love of Israel among students
